CHINA TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Surveillance images from a gas station show the woman deputies are calling a person of interest in their investigation of the human remains of a white male found Thursday afternoon scattered along Fred Moore Highway and Allington Road in China Township.

The images are from a nearby gas station right off Interstate 94. Also pictured is the car she was driving -- a mid 90s model SUV.

Neighbors can't believe the remains were found so close to their homes.

They wonder who could they belong to, how did he die, is their killer on the loose and who was the woman seen tossing the bags of human remains out of her SUV.

These are all questions detectives at the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department are tying to answer themselves. The results of the autopsy could provide some of those answers.

Early Friday morning detectives discovered another bag. In it was clothes and charred papers connected to this case. They found it right off I-94 near Fred Moore Highway.

As they sort through all the evidence neighbors are watching their backs.

"It's scary, whoever possibly did it drove right by the house here to drop it off. Kind of makes you wonder," said Dane Schroeder.
