A man charged with attacking a Wayne County deputy and then escaping from the courthouse will be back in court Monday.
Abraham Pearson allegedly attacked Deputy Harrison Tolliver with a sharpened comb on Sept. 9 as he was being escorted in the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice to face sentencing for carjacking and armed robbery.
Tolliver then fled the courthouse had police on a day-long manhunt for him until a tipster spotted him on a street and called 911.

Pearson faces 11 new charges, including assault with intent to murder, for the escape.
He was ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation in that case and is being held in the psychiatric ward of the Wayne County Jail.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Monday at 9 a.m. in the original carjacking and robbery case.
