A close aide to former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is returning to the witness chair, a day after telling jurors about illegal payoffs and a checking account that was used for personal benefits.

Derrick Miller also told the jury that officials working for Kilpatrick knew to watch for city business for contractor Bobby Ferguson.

Miller is returning to court Tuesday. He went to high school with Kilpatrick and worked for him in the state Legislature and at Detroit city hall, rising to chief administrative officer. Miller says he picked up thousands of dollars in bribes for Kilpatrick from a Cobo Center contractor and got thousands himself.
