DETROIT -

Bobby Ferguson is seeking a lighter sentence for his federal corruption convictions.

Ferguson goes before a judge on Friday to learn his fate, which could include nearly three decades in prison and millions in restitution payments.

But on Tuesday, the former Detroit contractor's attorney, Gerald Evelyn, submitted Ferguson's own sentencing memorandum in which he pleads for a lighter sentence.

Included in the memorandum are letters from former coworkers and family members. Among the letters are those from Brittany Ferguson, Brandy Ferguson and BJ Ferguson, who are Bobby's children.
