DETROIT -

It is called Kratom.

It comes in powder and pill form. In small doses it works like speed. In large doses it works like heroin.

Kids take it for rush or to hallucinate. They put it in tea, smoke it in pipes or take it in pill form.

Kratom is almost impossible for parents or police to detect. That's until kids become addicted, which only takes about a month.

Local 4 Defender Kevin Dietz shows how this new drug could create major problems.
