Jeep slams into Waterford pawn shop in smash-and-grab robbery

Police searching for 5 suspects in early morning robbery

WATERFORD, Mich. – Waterford police are searching for 5 men who took part in a Tuesday morning smash-and-grab robbery at the Mega Pawn Guns and More shop on Dixie Highway.

The incident happened just before 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Review of video surveillance systems from the Mega Pawn and surrounding businesses shows a full size red Dodge pickup meet with the Jeep in a neighboring business parking lot. Three suspects got out of the pickup and got into the Jeep. All five suspects then moved to the back of Mega Pawn where they attempted to gain entry through the rear of the business without success. Minutes later, the red Jeep is shown driving through the front wall of the business. Two of the five suspects enter the store and remove several long guns from the business. After leaving the store, the suspects ran to another neighboring business, got back into the Dodge pickup and fled the area.


Further investigation revealed the Jeep had been stolen from the 3000 block of Loon Lake Ct in Waterford, and had not been reported yet.
