MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - New York Giants defensive tackle Shaun Rogers had a pair of diamond earrings and gold jewelry stolen from his Miami Beach hotel room.
Miami Beach police are looking for a woman accused of taking over $400,000 worth of jewelry from a safe inside Rogers' room at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
According to a police report, Rogers met the woman at LIV. About 7 a.m. Monday, Rogers, the woman, and two of his friends went upstairs to his room, where he secured his jewelry and other valuables in the hotel safe.

Rogers fell asleep while the others continued partying, and when he woke up about 12:30 p.m., the woman he met at LIV was gone. He was unable to get into the safe, and when hotel security opened it, he noticed his earrings and jewelry was missing.
The hotel issued a statement Tuesday, saying: "On Monday, March 25 an alleged jewelry theft from the hotel room of Mr. Shaun Rogers was reported. As a result, hotel security was contacted and an investigation was immediately initiated. Based on the information provided, Miami Beach Police Department was contacted and is currently investigating this matter with the full cooperation of the hotel. While hotel staff cannot oversee what privately occurs behind guestroom doors, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is dedicated to the safety and security of its guests and committed to always upholding this standard."
Rogers missed last season after developing a blood clot in his leg following a preseason game. He had been signed as a free agent in April.
Rogers has played with Detroit, Cleveland and New Orleans, recording 602 tackles, 37½ sacks, 27 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries and an interception return for a touchdown. He has also blocked 14 field-goal attempts.
