Jimmy Howard's bobblehead found; 1 arrested

Life-size Red Wings player bobblehead goes missing, but is found in Allen Park

DETROIT – Jimmy Howard's head has been found, or at least the one off his life-size bobblehead.

Detroit Police Chief James Criag says one person is in custody, but more people are being sought, after the appendage was taken from the likeness of the Red Wings goalie in Campus Martius Park.

Craig said a tip led Allen Park police to find the head. Allen Park residents said they saw people walking around with the head on their heads.

Allen Park police Detective Jeff Miller said the head also was seen at a party and then dumped near Millward Park.

The bobbleheads around the city are part of a marketing campaign by a local sports cable channel. Other bobbleheads around the city are: Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer, Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter, Pistons center Andre Drummond, Pistons forward Josh Smith, and Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk.

Sources say the Datsyuk bobblehead was stolen last week.

All the bobbleheads are coming down now that it is May. The campaign was supposed to run only in April.
