Vera Pecaj, 40, was charged with resisting and obstructing arrest

GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Brighton woman was arrested while jogging and her angry tirade was caught on camera.

Vera Pecaj, 40, was charged with resisting and obstructing arrest, a felony, after a Green Oak Township police officer stopped her while she was jogging in January.

The officer told Pecaj she needed to run on the sidewalk. In his report, the officer said she refused to stop and speak to him and declined to give her name.

When the officer attempted to arrest her, Pecaj began screaming.

Pecaj said she wasn’t running in the street.

She no longer runs the route for fear of what could happen next time.

Pecaj pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge.

A neighbor told Local 4 they saw the incident and that Pecaj was on the sidewalk.
