Judge Carries Loaded Gun Into Airport

ROMULUS. Mich. - A local judge could be charged for carrying a loaded gun in her bag inside Metropolitan Airport in Romulus.

Judge Sylvia James, an Inkster district judge, was stopped by Transportation Security Administration agents and airport security over the weekend for carrying a gun in her bag.

James said she forgot the gun was with her.

James has a concealed weapons permit, but it does not permit her to have the weapon inside the airport, according to officials.

Prosecutors will begin reviewing the case this week and decide if charges will be filed.
