Judge to decide if men will stand trial for Westland teens' 2012 murders

Jourdan Bobbish, Jacob Kudla found shot to death in Detroit field

DETROIT – Monday's hearing will help a judge decide if two men will stand trial for first-degree murder in the killing of two Westland teens in 2012.

The bodies of 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish and 18-year-old Jacob Kudla were found in a field on Detroit's east side. The Westland residents had been missing for five days.

A probable cause hearing began last Wednesday for Fredrick Young of Detroit and Ferlando Hunter of Jackson and resumed on Monday morning. Detroit District Judge Michael Wagner will decide whether to send the case to trial in Wayne County Circuit Court.

On Monday, defense attorneys challenged a woman who testified she saw Young with a gun when he threatened the two Westland teens.

"I saw it ... in his hand," the woman testified.

Young's cousin Brendan Hall testified last week that the teens went to a home in Detroit to buy drugs but were robbed and forced into a car trunk. The judge has not yet made a trial decision.
