Bob Bashara's daughter testified Wednesday that she caught her father looking at pornography and lying about an affair.
Once on the stand, Jessica Bashara looked everywhere, but avoided making eye contact with her father.
She told the court that before her mother's death, her parents' marriage had been on the rocks.
"They were in counseling," she said.
There were multiple times, Jessica said, that she and her mother had confronted Bob about his pornography habit -- adding that he visited alt.com.
She said her father told her and her mother he had stopped, but she continued to find evidence of it -- including a racy text message that said, "Get on your knees and give me h***, b****."
Jessica said her father denied the text message existed.
After her mother's death, Jessica said media reports began to surface that her father had been having an affair. She said her father initially denied it, but later admitted to having one with a woman named "Rachel," but that it wasn't sexual. But, Jessica said, she found a card with her dad's handwriting on it that referenced sexual acts.
Jessica said her father never mentioned Joe Gentz, who was a handyman on the family's rental properties, but began to bring up his name after her mother's death.
Jessica said her father first told her that he thought Jane had been the victim of a random carjacking, but then changed the story to say he suspected Gentz had killed Jane during a confrontation about money.
Hearing under way to determine if Bob Bashara will stand trial for murder
The preliminary hearing to decide if there's enough evidence to try Robert Bashara for first-degree murder began Monday afternoon.
Jane Bashara's body was found Jan 24, 2012, in her Mercedes-Benz in a Detroit alley, a few miles from the couple's home in Grosse Pointe Park. Joseph Gentz has pleaded guilty to strangling her, saying he did so at her husband's behest.
Bashara already is serving up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to trying to hire someone to kill Gentz in jail. He's denied involvement in his wife's death.
