Lady Gaga cancels shows in Detroit, Chicago, Canada

Doctors told pop star to postpone shows due to severe joint inflammation

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Lady Gaga has canceled her tour performance scheduled for Detroit this Saturday, Feb.16, due to a doctor's order.

Live Nation Global confirmed that Gaga has a case of synovitis, which is severe inflammation of the joints.

Four shows in all have been postponed because of her ailment.

The shows included are the following:
February 13 and 14 - Chicago, IL - United Center
February 16 - Detroit, MI - The Palace of Auburn Hills
February 17 - Hamilton, ON - Copps Coliseum

In a statement released by The Palace Lady Gaga wrote:

"I am completely devastated and heartsick. I've been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night's performance I could not walk. To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now. I would do anything for you. I will hopefully heal as soon as possible and be at 500% again, which is what you deserve."

Fans who had tickets for this weekend's performance are being told to hold on to their tickets until the concert is rescheduled.

Refunds for the postponed performances, if required, will be available at point of purchase.
