DEARBORN, Mich. – Vista Maria has been serving metro Detroit's youth for 130 years. This non-profit organization out of Dearborn Heights prides itself on delivering care, support, treatment and education programs to young women, ages 10 to 24, that may be homeless, victims of sexual assault, abused or neglected.
May 7 is Vista Maria's 16th Annual Celebrating Women event, when three professional women who are making a difference in the community will be honored along with three standout ladies currently in the program.
Local 4 reporter and anchor Lauren Podell will be the emcee for the evening.
Professional Honorees:
- Barb Yolles, Chief Strategy Officer of United Shore Financial Services
- Saunteel Jenkins, former city of Detroit Councilwoman and current Chief Executive Officer of The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW)
- Tara Coughlin, President of Malayka International Foundation
The event, held at The Henry, Autograph Collection in Dearborn, includes a dinner, silent auction packages and award ceremony.
- 4:30 p.m.: Event kicks off with a VIP Networking Reception for Honorees, Corporate Sponsors and Patron Guests
- 5:00 p.m.: Doors open for a General Guest Reception & Silent Auction
- 6:00 p.m.: Guests will enjoy the four course Dinner & Program event
Proceeds from Celebrating Women serve to heal victimized girls and women with best-practice treatment programs, while serving other vulnerable children and families in Michigan.
