Law office will pay for rides home from the bar on Thanksgiving Eve

Thanksgiving Eve is known as the busiest bar night of the year. That's why Michigan State Police and a local lawyer are stepping up to make sure everyone can get home safely.

MSP will have extra patrols on the roadways through the holiday weekend. Troopers will be on alert for impaired driving, seat belt use, careless driving and speeding.

Officials say Thanksgiving is Michigan's second deadliest holiday in terms of traffic crashes. Six people were killed last year during the Thanksgiving holiday period. Over Thanksgiving 2013, a dozen deaths resulted from crashes.
