Recap: Live in the D (Oct. 7, 2015)

Beer, cake and exercise

On today's "Live in the D," host Chuck Gaidica worked out with a fitness expert who revealed some simple ways to strengthen your upper body.

The trainer was impressed at how well Chuck did his push-ups: no knee push-ups for him. Co-host Tati Amare worked out her arms using a bicep resistance band.

Did you know there's a right way to taste beer? You can find out what it is, which beer is best suited for you and the best glasses to drink from. Plus, check out our beer connoisseur's top 10 Michigan breweries list. It's all on our "Live in the D" page.

Different kinds of chiefs (police, fire, Indian and more) are partnering with local chefs to cook for kids. It's all part of a big fund-raiser for Youth Connection, an organization that helps kids fulfill their future dreams and learn about nutrition to stay healthy.

The Somerset Collection prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Part of its collection is right in the heart of Detroit, Somerset City Loft.

Chuck and Tati got a lesson in how to pick the perfect wedding cake and they did a nice job decorating one, too. It was all in keeping with our huge Wedding Giveaway. You can enter on the "Live in the D" Facebook page.
