PONTIAC, Mich. -

The Pontiac Silverdome is my favorite stadium of all time. I have so many great memories of spending time there with family and friends watching my favorite team.

I know I'm not alone.

Growing up in Michigan and metro Detroit, we are all connected by one thing: the love for our sports teams. The Silverdome was a huge part of that. The upper deck hung over the field.

The action felt so close.

The noise. Oh, the noise. The Silverdome was so loud. We gave our team such a big home field advantage.

Even the cheap seats were amazing.

Remember those bleachers in the corner end zone? I think tickets were like $7. I loved those. Detroit is the greatest sports town in the country and the Silverdome is a big part of that.

It's hard to put into words the emotions I felt when I walked inside this once great stadium and saw its current state. Nostalgia, sadness, amazement. It was such a mix.

I felt very honored to be the first member of the media allowed in to capture and share it.

I was also able to interview Lions fans picking up the seats that they purchased. They all talked about these seats and what they meant. It wasn't just about watching football, these seats represented cherished family time spent usually with dad or grandpa.

What does the future hold for the Pontiac Silverdome? That's uncertain. But as diehard Detroit sports fans, we will always have our memories of time spent with family and friends.

What's your favorite memory from the Silverdome?
