DETROIT - The 3rd annual Celebrity Coneys for a Cause will take place Thursday at American Coney Island.
Local 4's Shawn Ley is expected to be one of the celebrity servers at the event, along with other local media personalities.
The celebrity servers will serve lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to customers at American Coney Island at 114 W. Lafayette in Detroit.
Organizers said a portion from the sales of coney and coney combo specials will be donated to the Heat and Warmth (THAW) Fund.
Along with Thursday's event, the 11th annual Winter Survival Radiothon will take place Friday.
The 14-hour radiothon aims to raise $750,000 in emergency energy assistance funding for struggling Michigan families, organizers said.
Finally, the second annual Hardcore THAW special private event, hosted by the stars of TruTV's "Hardcore Pawn," will take place from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Donations may be made by calling the Winter Survival Radiothon Hotline at 888-579-4950. To learn more, click here.
