Local hospitals admit employees aren't properly trained in collecting evidence from rape victims

Sexual assault victim shares her story

After a sexual assault, the most important thing for a victim is to get medical help. Another important step is collecting whatever evidence might be left behind.

Local 4's Nick Monacelli found out there appears to be a lack of training in that form of evidence collection, but there could be a fix coming from Oakland University.

A local sexual assault victim shared her story for the first time to spread the message that no victim is ever to blame. She also brings up the question: When it comes to collecting evidence after their attack, is there a gaping hole in health care?

You can watch Nick's full story in the video posted above.
