Properties considered dangerous to residents, hospital visitors

DETROIT – The AmeriCorps Urban Safety Project, in a joint effort with Henry Ford Health System, plans to board up vacant properties in the neighborhood near Henry Ford Hospital. In addition to boarding up vacant homes on Kipling Avenue, the surrounding streets, including West Grand Boulevard and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, will be cleaned of trash and shoveled.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 8th, to kick off National AmeriCorps week. Community residents, local volunteers, including HFHS employees, and elected city officials plan to attend the event.
