CLARKSTON, Mich. – Operations Specialist 2nd Class Siordia of the US Navy recently returned from Afghanistan after serving a 1-year tour.

"I gained tremendous respect for him after he would take time out of his schedule to perform in a hostile environment," said Siordia.

Siordia, 32, is married to Melissa and has two young children. He has been in the military 14 years and will be re-enlisting for 6 more years.

He reached out to Dr. Don Carpenter, of 99.5 WYCD's The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald, to see whether he could help arrange for Toby Keith do the honors of reading his re-enlistment oath during a concert at DTE on June 16. WYCD is one of the presenters of the show.

"I was very happy to help this sailor out," said Dr. Don "We have huge respect for our military at WYCD, and re-enlisting in the navy for a further six years definitely deserves a special honor."

The oath will be read out by Toby Keith, backstage at DTE, between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.
