4 metro Detroit schools get national recognition by 'U.S. News & World Report'

Schools make cut for 2014 'Best High Schools'

DETROIT – Four Metro Detroit high schools are recognized nationally by U.S. News & World Report. They made the cut for the 2014 Best High Schools list, which was released Tuesday.


The International Academy ranked ninth in the nation and first in Michigan. The school has campuses in both Oakland and Macomb counties.

Troy High School, Rochester Adams High School, and Bloomfield Hills Andover High School all made the Top 10 state list.


The 2014 Best High Schools list profiles more than 19,400 high schools, and ranks the nation's highest-scoring institutions accordingly.


U.S. News also released rankings for the Best Charter Schools, Best Magnet Schools, and Best STEM Schools. Troy ranked sixth for STEM schools.
