Nineteen year old Jeremy Phillips took his daughter, A'mia Neveah Phillips, after a shooting in the 11400 block of Lakepointe Street on the city's east side.

Police said Phillips forced his way into a home, shot a relative four times and took the baby. The relative, who is the mother's cousin, was trying to stop him from taking the girl.

The child's mother was in the home at the time, too.

An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday night for A'mia.

The shooting victim was in critical condition Wednesday night.
