DETROIT – Detroit police Officer Brian Huff, who was killed in the line of duty in 2010, was honored Friday with the retirement of his scout car, 5-14.
In an emotional early morning memorial service, which was attended by many of Detroit's finest and Huff's family, the car was officially retired at 3:50 a.m.
From here on, the crew assigned to vehicle 5-14 will revert to 5-13.
Huff was a 42-year-old husband and father. He was fatally shot May 3, 2010, while investigating a complaint at an abandoned duplex.
