Detroit police release suspect descriptions in home invasion

DETROIT, Mich. – The Detroit Police Department is releasing new information on a home invasion on Detroit's west side where two elderly women were bound and gagged early Monday.

Suspect #1: Black male, 18-20, 5'-10, 130lbs, dark complexion, wearing a grayish sweatshirt with a hood, and armed.

 

Suspect #2:Black Male, 18-20, 5'-10, 140lbs, medium complexion, wearing a dark colored sweater with a hood.

 

Suspect #3Black Male, 18-22, 5'-10, 150lbs, medium complexion, wearing a blue sweater with a hood.

Police were called to the 2500 block of Pingree on Detroit's west side shortly after 3 a.m.

Three men dressed in all dark clothing broke into the home of two elderly females.  The female victim, 89, told police she heard noises and went to investigated - that's when she saw the suspects inside her home. One suspect struck the victim with an object, causing her to fall to the floor then took her personal items. Another suspect gained entry into the upper residence of the female victim, 83, demanding cash and jewelry. I had a little jewelry box. It didn't have much in it but they took it. They took a watch that I had."

One of the victims told Local 4, "I looked up and there were 2 in the room and they were asking for money and they were asking for jewelry.

Both of the women were found tied up, one of the victims was bound and gagged with a phone cord. The victims were trapped inside their home fore more than an hour before they were able to call police.

The suspects are believed to be in their late teens to early 20s.

The men were able to escape using a rear door to the house.

Both female victims refused medical treatment.
