15 members of Detroit Police Department to be recognized in Washington for 2011 precinct shooting

DETROIT – The 68-second video released by Detroit police shows it all: A lone gunman strides into a station, armed with a shotgun concealed at his side and opens fire.

Four officers were wounded before police shot and killed the suspect.

Members of Detroit's 6th and 8th precincts who were there on Jan. 23, 2011, are now being honored with national recognition.

Fifteen of them will travel to Washington D.C. this weekend to meet President Barack Obama and other leaders as part of the National Association of Police Organizations Top Cops awards.
