DETROIT – Firefighters from the Detroit Fire Department were called to a restaurant explosion Monday morning shortly after 2 a.m.
Jack's Coney Island located in the 20000 block of W. 7 Mile is a complete loss after an explosion leveled the building.
Nobody was inside the building at the time of the explosion. Witnesses say they heard two loud explosions before looking out the window and seeing flames at the restaurant.
The owner was at the restaurant Monday morning after the explosion to try to salvage what he could from the ruins of the destroyed building.
Local 4 has a crew on the scene gathering more information as the investigation continues.
