DETROIT - A judge declared a mistrial Thursday for a man charged with 1st-degree murder in the shooting death of a 12-year-old Detroit girl.

Joshua Brown's trial lasted two weeks and included a 4-day deliberation period which ended with the judge's mistrial declaration this week.

A news trial is scheduled for March 11.

Brown, 19, remains jailed.

Kade'jah Davis was killed Jan. 31, three days after her 12th birthday party. Police say Davis was shot when Brown went to her home searching for his cellphone.
