DETROIT - Compuware executive chairman Peter Karmanos Jr. and his wife, Danialle, have donated $1 million to a Detroit art and design college.
The donation will be used to establish graphic design studios in their names at the College for Creative Studies. Danialle Karmanos is a member of the school's board of trustees.
The studios will be in the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education and will provide students with state-of-the-art facilities. The space was dedicated last week.
More than 1,400 students are enrolled in the College for Creative Studies, which offers bachelor and master degrees in Fine Arts. Majors offered at the school include advertising design, entertainment arts, graphic design and transportation design.
Software developer Compuware was co-founded nearly 40 years ago by Peter Karmanos Jr.
