Dawson is with a foster family after being rescued from inside the wall of a gas station bathroom in Detroit.

DETROIT - A kitten was rescued from inside the wall of a bathroom Nov. 6 in Detroit.

The Michigan Humane Society Rescue Department was contacted by gas station employees who were concerned for the kitten's well being. Employees said the kitten had been coming out of a small hole in the bathroom wall but they had not seen him in a few days.

The MHS rescue team determined the kitten, now named Dawson, was stuck inside the wall after an access hole was cut into it by a gas station employee. Dawson was caught between a steel beam and the brick outer wall.

He was pulled to safety and taken to the MHS Detroit Center for Animal Care.

A veterinarian examined Dawson and found out he has a severe upper respiratory infection. The kitten is in a foster home after receiving special treatment. They hope he makes a full recovery.
