DETROIT - A 27-year-old man has been charged in the slaying of a woman in her Detroit hotel room.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office said Monday that Dajuan Lee Ainsworth faces first-degree murder and other charges.
Relatives identified 21-year-old Ninoshka Nieves-Figueroa as the woman shot to death April 19 at the Corktown Inn, a 140-room hotel just west of downtown Detroit.
A message seeking information on whether Ainsworth has a lawyer was sent to a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office.
Police have said an arrest was made Friday in Highland Park after they released a security camera photo of a man they were seeking to question.
Longtime hotel owner Chester Mirowski has said the man in the picture came in and asked for the woman's room just before the shooting.
