DETROIT – Detroit police say a passenger riding in a car on Saturday, shot the driver of the vehicle who then crossed the center line and struck a pedestrian.
Police said two men in a BMW were going north on Gratiot Avenue when the car suddenly crossed over into the southbound lanes near Seneca and hit a 56-year-old man who was crossing the street.

He was dragged for several feet until the car came to a stop in a field.
Police say the armed passenger got out of the car and fled. Investigators are seeking public help in finding him.
The shooting and crash happened about 3 p.m. Saturday on Detroit's east side.
The driver inside the car suffered a gunshot wound and is in critical condition.
The man who was hit by the car is also in critical condition.
