DETROIT - Mitch Albom's play about the late Detroit Tigers broadcaster Ernie Harwell will run two weeks past its originally scheduled July end date.
"Ernie" now will run through Aug. 12 at the City Theatre, not far from the Tigers' Comerica Park home.
Organizers say "Ernie" is the best-attended show in the theater's history.
Harwell died at age 92 on May 4, 2010, after a battle with cancer.
The play is set on Harwell's last night at Comerica Park in September 2009, prior to his thank-you speech to the city of Detroit.
