The third victim, also a man, has not been identified.

Detroit firefighters were called to the home on a report of a fire. When they made their way into the house they did a sweep and found one victim on the first floor and the other two victims in the basement.

First responders tried to resuscitate the victim found on the first floor, but that person died on the way to a hospital.

"There was some trauma to the (bodies in the basement) but we can't confirm what type of trauma," said Chief Fire Investigator Charles Simms.

The trauma was later confirmed to be stab wounds and at least one gunshot wound to Bowman.

Firefighters had drenched the home in water to stop the blaze which flooded the basement. They had to pump water out of the basement to get to two of the victims.

No arrests have been made.

Detroit police and Michigan State Police both are investigating this fire and the deaths.
