DETROIT - Michigan State Police say alcohol was a factor in a crash Wednesday morning on the northbound I-75 ramp to Gratiot Avenue in Detroit.

Police said a Buick sedan was on the ramp when its driver suddenly accelerated and changed lanes, hitting a pickup truck. The Buick rolled and landed on a car hauler that was stopped at a nearby light. Two adults and a 3-year-old child in the pickup truck were taken to Henry Ford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Buick had to be cut out of the car and was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact MSP at (248) 584-5740.
