DETROIT – A woman walking her dog down a gated path made a gruesome discovery on Detroit's east side.
The woman found a body, and possibly a second, in a gated area next to a cemetery at E. Lafayette St. and McDougall St.
Christopher Thomas, who lives in a gated community near by, says the path is heavily traveled by children, but not much else.
"Well, I see cemetery trucks going through there. Just maintenance crews, grounds keepers going through every now and then. But other than that, not so often."
Detroit Police arrived at the scene around 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. EMS quickly responded, but then left to make way for the homicide investigator and the medical examiner.
The area was closed off by police for an investigation.
