Hiring Our Heroes: hiring fair coming to Dearborn

Nationwide initiative to hire veterans and their spouses comes to Metro Detroit

DEARBORN, Mich. – NBC News, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce, State of Michigan, Michigan National Guard and many other organizations are working together to bring Hiring Our Heroes to Southeast Michigan.

Dearborn is the locale for our area's first Hiring Our Heroes event of the year. It will be held April 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, located at 15801 Michigan Ave.

The hiring fair is open to the region's veterans and their spouses. Over 300 hiring fairs in 49 states and the District of Columbia have been held and more than 14,000 veterans and military spouses have landed jobs.

This event is one of the largest fairs to date, with a goal of bringing 100-area employers together with hundreds of local veterans.

The companies will range from America's biggest employers to dozens of small companies from across the state. These companies are looking for veterans of all levels of rank and experience.

Another Hiring Our Heroes event will be held Thursday, May 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Southfield Learning Center.
