DETROIT – Deliberations in the corruption trial of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick ended early Monday morning when a juror went home sick.
Jurors were starting their fifth day of deliberations.

Kilpatrick, his father Bernard and city contractor Bobby Ferguson are charged with running a criminal enterprise that relied on kickbacks, bribes and rigged contracts. Kwame Kilpatrick also is charged with fraud, tax crimes and other offenses.
Meanwhile, officials say his monthly $500 payment to Detroit was paid by his mother, former U.S. Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick. Kwame Kilpatrick owes the city more than $800,000, restitution that's tied to his 2008 conviction for obstruction of justice.
