Person of interest in I-96 shootings comes forward

Police say man was cooperative

WIXOM, Mich. – A potential witness to the I-96 roadway shootings came forward Friday night after the police task force at the helm of the investigation released his photo to the public.

Police released a photo of him taken from a Mobil gas station in Brighton. He then contacted the task force. Police say he was cooperative and assisted with their investigation.

In the meantime, the multi-jurisdictional task force continues to investigate the 24 known shooting incidents that occurred between October 16 and October 27.

The possible suspect is described as a white male in his late twenties or thirties. One witness described him as "clean-shaven." However, it is possible the suspect has changed his appearance.

A reward of $102,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.  Information can discreetly be provided by calling 1-800-SPEAK UP (1-800-773-2587) or 248-624-6114.
