Weekend forecast calls for up, down temps

Warmer with highs in the mid 40s

DETROIT – "Roller coaster" doesn't even begin to describe our temperature change over the next forty-eight hours.

Today is the warmest day, with plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid 40s!

This would be a VERY good day to take down the Christmas lights and get the car washed, unless you prefer doing that stuff in bitter cold temperatures.  Mostly clear and still relatively mild tonight, with lows in the upper 20s to near 30.

Sunday is transition day:  we'll start with morning sunshine, then see clouds increase with some light afternoon snow showers possible.  Highs in the upper 30s to near 40, before temperatures start sharply falling Sunday night as the Arctic Blast works its way in.

Then Monday through Thursday will all be very cold with widely scattered very light snow showers possible at any time (but mostly dry).  Highs all four days will be in the teens, with overnight lows in the single numbers.
