Lockdown lifted at 2 Southfield schools after report of gunman in area

All children, staff safe at Southfield schools while police investigated report of person with gun

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Two Southfield Public Schools -- Bussey Center for Early Childhood Education and Southfield-Lathrup High School -- were briefly placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon after someone spotted a person with a gun in the area.

The school district says children, staff members and parents at the schools all are safe.
