Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham announced Monday that he has declared an end to the jail overcrowding emergency. Monday's inmate county went below the allotted 1238 inmates.
Wickersham said last week the jail had been over its capacity of 1,238 for seven days.
The last time an overcrowding emergency was declared at the Macomb County Jail was September of 2008. At that time 68 inmates were released early.
