When deputies responded to the alarm, they found that the man had removed an air unit on the roof to get inside. He had used a hatchet to break open registers and steal cash and cigarettes.

Deputies said it appears the man triggered a security sensor at some point, which turned the alarm on, forcing him to use a fire extinguisher to break through the glass to get out.

Surveillance pictures of the man have been released. He was wearing gloves, a hat, mask and a light on his head.

Deputies said they were able to find some money on the ground that the man left behind.

Anyone with information on the man in the pictures is asked to call the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at 586-307-9358 or 586-307-9412.
