A Macomb Township man has been charged for allegedly impersonating an officer.
Bloomfield Township police said someone on July 22 called to report a car on Telegraph road that was equipped with a spotlight and badge emblems on the doors. The driver of the car was shining the spotlight in other cars.
A Bloomfield Township police officer who was parked at Telegraph and Lone Pine saw the suspect’s car coming down the roadway with flashing red and white emergency lights.
The police officer pulled over the suspect’s car.
The driver of the car with the emergency lights exited his car wearing a bullet proof vest, a badge that read “concealed weapons permit” and was carrying a pistol.
Police said the driver stated he worked for a private security company and activated his lights to get the officers attention.
The suspect, Eric Jeter, 41, has been charged with impersonating a public officer.
He posted bond and has since been released.
