HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said a 20-year-old man is hospitalized after being hit by a car on Metropolitan Parkway in Harrison Township early Wednesday morning.
In a statement about the incident, Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said Luke Thomas Lemons was hit by a Mount Clemens woman driving a Chevy Blazer near the I-94 overpass at about 1:30 a.m.
Wickersham said the driver called 911 to report hitting Lemons, who she said had been lying in the roadway.
Lemons, a Macomb Township resident, was taken to McLaren Hospital with serious injuries, but Wickersham said Lemons had been conscious and was speaking at the scene.
The driver has not been charged.
