Abston allegedly forced 25-year-old Farrah Nichol Cook into a waiting car with the help of another man and took off.
Her abduction was caught on the apartment complex's security cameras.
Cook, a mother of three, was able to escape later in the day unharmed.
Abston's accused accomplice, Raymond James March, was arrested May 10 at a home in Inkster. Police said they found the Pontiac Bonneville that was used in the kidnapping at the same time.
The two are facing charges of unlawful imprisonment. Police haven't released a motive in the case.
