Man arrested in connection to Michigan State student's murder

Police say 19-year-old is suspect in Jan. 31 shooting death of 20-year-old student at Cedar Village apartments

EAST LANSING, Mich. – A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the deadly shooting of a 20-year-old Michigan State University student on Jan. 31 in East Lansing.

Marquay McCoy was arrested Tuesday night at a home in Grand Rapids where police believe he lives with his mother. He was taken into custody for a parole violation while police believe he is a suspect in Dominique Nolff's murder.

Nolff, a sophomore at MSU and native of Middleville, Mich., was killed at his Cedar Village apartment. His roommate from Grand Haven also was shot but he was treated at the hospital and released.

Earlier this month, East Lansing police released surveillance photos of a man suspected in the murder. Investigators believe this was not a random act.
