Detroit man charged for kidnapping, sexual assault

DETROIT – The 33-year-old Detroit man, Andre Haynes, accused of sexually assaulting two women in Detroit last week, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct first degree, criminal sexual conduct second degree, armed robbery, kidnapping, felony firearm second degree and felon in possession of a firearm.

Police say Haynes was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2001 for felony firearms, carjacking and armed robbery. He was released from prison on Feb. 5, 2013 and is currently on parole for that case.

Below is a description of Haynes' alleged crimes:

A woman was kidnapped, taken across town and raped Wednesday. And then it happened again Thursday in Detroit. But police said they've now arrested the man responsible before it could happen a third time.

Local 4 cameras were rolling as police took down the alleged serial rapist that police are calling a dangerous man.

Detectives told Local 4 the 33-year-old suspect kidnapped a woman on Detroit's east side and brought her back to the west side, where he held her for hours while raping her.

"Following releasing that victim, the suspect went out and found a second victim," detectives said.

That woman was on the east side, with the same MO. Police said the man drove that woman back to the west side, where he then raped her, too.

Investigators said tracked the man down Thursday night near a gas station at Puritan and Wyoming.

"(The suspect) was in a car. (We) initiated (a) traffic stop (and) arrested (him) without incident."
