The bodies of Courtney Durr, 28, and her son, Sumari Das, 10, were discovered on the night of June 7 at the La Colonnade apartments on Northline Road.

Police said Durr was found with her hands bound and her throat slit. She and her son had ligature marks, signaling they may have been strangled.

Beck was located the next day in Dearborn near Oakwood Hospital and taken into custody.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's office, Beck had been living at the apartment with Durr and her son.

Director of Public Safety Thomaas Coombs said Beck was released from prison last year after serving 10 years for armed robbery.

Beck is scheduled to appear at the 28th District Court in Southgate at 9 a.m.
