GARDEN CITY, Mich. – A man is charged in connection to the stabbings of three people Saturday night in Garden City.

Marlin Jermaine Day is charged with one count of assault with intent to murder, three counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of assault and battery.

Three people were stabbed in the 28800 block of Pardo at about 10 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses and victims told police that a 24-year-old woman who lives in the complex arrived in her car and was attacked and beaten without provocation. Her screams brought out other residents, three of whom were stabbed while trying to help the woman.

A 45-year-old woman was stabbed in the hand. A 21-year-old man was stabbed in the arm and a 60-year-old woman who was babysitting at the complex was stabbed in the head. However, Day is only charged with stabbing three people.

Police said none of the injuries are life threatening.

Day was arrested that night. He was arraigned Thursday at the 21st District Court. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. His bond was set at $250,000.
